Weekend Getaway in Chicago

Updated: Aug 22, 2024

Chicago, the Windy City, is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway. With its stunning architecture, vibrant arts scene, and delicious food, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Here's a short guide to making the most of your two days in this dynamic city.

Consider spending time exploring the downtown and Riverwalk area. Take photos in Millenium Park at the Cloud gate or affectionately known as “The Bean.” Stroll through the Lurie Garden and take in the urban oasis. Afterward, head to Navy Pier for a leisurely stroll. Enjoy the lively atmosphere, catch a ride on the Centennial Wheel, and take in the dazzling views of the city at night. For a breathtaking view of the city, visit 360 Chicago, located in the John Hancock Center. The observation deck offers stunning panoramic views of Chicago’s skyline and Lake Michigan. For the adventurous, try Tilt, an exhilarating ride that tilts you out over the edge of the building.

No trip is complete without indulging in great food options. Some of my favorite food spots are Giordano’s, Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria, and the modern steakhouse RPM Steak. For all of my coffee drinkers, please be sure to visit Starbucks Reserve Roastery- it’s a sight to see!

Chicago is a city that captures the heart of every visitor with its rich history, diverse culture, and endless attractions. Whether you’re a foodie, an art lover, or an adventure seeker, you’ll find plenty to keep you entertained. This weekend guide offers just a taste of what the Windy City has to offer—leaving you eager to plan your next visit.
